Dear diary
I am aware that due to my misery over losing the love of my life at Christmas I have failed to tell you poof bags has gone too.
Mum and Dad sent him to naughty school where it appears you get to do lots of fun things like go on long hacks with those dogs and men in red coats. I was so disappointed I thought hed be doing squat jumps in the snow.
Apparently poof bags showed a natural aptitude for chasing after dogs and someone made Dad an offer he couldnt refuse . So poof bags has gone to a new home where they will not make him try to be a showjumper (which to be fair he was PANTS at) and will let him go out with the dogs lots. Im not sure that is very fair. I dont want to be a poncy dressage pony but that doesnt seem to stop mum making me go round in lots of circles.
I miss him in so far as he was fun to wind up but mum and dad have promised me a new brother or sister Im hoping for a sister, as when my heart one days heals from the loss of my fit mare, maybe a sister could introduce me to some nice girls?
Anyway in an effort to be positive about the New Year and help me get over the death of my girl, I have made some New Years resolutions. I thought I would share them with you:
1. Learn how to ice skate as this appears to be the only way any of us will ever get out of our stables and see grass again ..
2. Be nicer to my mum in case someone makes her an offer she cant refuse and I end up being a dressage princess for the rest of my life
3. Learn how to cunningly swap legs whilst cantering so that mum thinks were on the right one and Im on the leg Im happiest on = both of us happy!
4. Perfect my commando roll to ensure both sides of my neck, body and face get equally covered in mud. Mum loves this and I want to make her happy (see number 2)
5. Try to keep mum on my back when jumping over jumps. Apparently the name of the game isnt just to get over the jumps but to get mum over them too. I wish someone had pointed this out before then mum wouldnt feel the need to question who my dad was on a regular basis .
6. Help mum with stable duties more she enjoys it so much when I brush up with her, empty the wheel barrow or help her smash the ice in the field trough. Therefore I must do more of this to make her happy (see number 2)
7. Learn to throw a poof bags inspired tantrum when asked to do anything resembling dressage it worked for him and jumping so no reason it cant work for me and stressage
8. Try to listen more to mum: Remember that whoa you big fat horse of unknown parentage means she wants me to slow down. Try not to cringe at her appalling singing. Try not to snigger when I have swiped snot down her back without her noticing.
9. Fill my diary in every week without fail unless mum has stolen the laptop.
10. Make 2010 the year of The Destroyer. Apparently monkeys, dragons and such like have their own year so I claim this one as mine!
