How accident prone are you?

I have, yet again, hurt myself! My foot slipped on Sunday night when I was climbing a 5 bar gate, and I came down on top of the top rail, and it caught me just under my ribs. I have no bruising, but bloody hell, it hurts! I cant take a deep breath, cant cough, cant laugh, cant turn over in bed, etc etc. I wouldnt be surprised if I have cracked a rib!!!

Sounds like a cracked rib to me!

Everyone always makes fun of how accident prone I am. I can predict my accidents fairly accurately! I'll have one major one every 3-4 months.

The weirdest ones recently were cutting my wrist down to the tendon with a cup (that was fun to explain in a&e!) and cutting my toe while climbing stairs (I still have no idea how!) oh and I also cut my finger on a potato masher.

I'm convinced that if its safe I WILL hurt myself on it, if it's something I could hurt myself on though, I'm generally pretty safe with it!

Maybe I should take back the last paragraph. My BF has just reminded me of a 1 story hole I fell down one night, and no, I wasn't drunk!

VERY!

My hand-eye coordination seems to have taken a turn for the worse, which may explain a lot of the bruises I have all over my body (also short term memory loss as to how I acquired them in the first place!). Main culprit is the end of my bed, cunningly hidden by my duvet. You'd have thought by now I'd have realised where the knobbly bits are so I don't walk into them at full speed!

Managed to burn my finger last night in work. The printer/photocopier jammed and in my attempts to free the paper I completely ignored a 'warning: hot' sign and stuck my hand right in :( I now have a melted finger which is really painful today!

Another funny and quite recent one, due to being too lazy to walk around to the battery to see if the electric fence was switched on or not, I jumped it to move something, then as I jumped back out, landed awkwardly and twisted my knee! Still having twinges when I ride/walk! Oops :o

Thing is, I work at the hospital, it wouldnt take much for me to go to a&e and have an xray, but my notes at the hospital are banded together in 3 huge piles I have so many!!! I am so embarassed at my accident prone-ness!
I know nothing can be done for cracked ribs, as, surprise surprise, I have done them before!!! I am also on morphine and diclofenac already for my back, so cant have any more pain killers!

Very, am currently nursing a busted ankle which I achieved by tripping over a tree stump while walking the dog last week.

Worst horse related one was when I got dumped into a fence and split my ear open. That bit was fine. Having it stitched up without local anastetic (because useless doctor didn't get dose right), not so great

However, when I did jujitsu, my catalogue of injuries over the 2 years included: breaking both big toes and little toes, breaking my thumb and right ankle, knackering both knees, both wrists, both shoulders and once ended up with concussion after being dropped on my head :o:eek: Not to mention the multitude of bruises, I once had one that covered my entire left calf!

I think my hubby was rather relieved when we moved away and I couldn't find a local club!

lets see .. this year ive ..

smashed a hand in a barn door,

fallen over on frozen ground (masive hole in leg)

had a car accient

had a horse accident (ruptured the entire tendon structure of my hand/wrist/arm)

and then we have all the little knocks/cuts/bruises

lol shall i stop now?

Hmmm very.

Burns, cuts, trip over.

I am a sleep walker and dont wake up when I fall over, last week I went down the stairs!!!!! Carried on sleeping at the bottom. We now have a baby gate... :o

I fall off Buds alot too, this year I have fallen off 2 x out hunting (last one on saturday where I ended up in a bog and pony used my leg to get himself up, good bruise!!) 2 x at shows and once from a slow trot whilst doing a hunter trial!!

TOUCH WOOD!!!! I haven't broken anything yet!!!!

i am just getting a bit fed up with pain! and people saying, 'what have you done this time!' I am sure with the amount of morphine I am taking I shouldnt be able to feel anything anyway!!!

Yeah another accident prone one here too. lol. Went to dr yesterday as I slipped when walking the dog the other day and dr first words were I dont think I have ever seen you when you havent had a limp. OOPS. So Im currently nursing a jammed pelvic joint from the slip. Least it wasnt a horse accident this time. haha.
