How are all your good doers doing?

Probably not what you lot want to hear but my share horse's sugar rash has returned. He's intolerant to sugar and gets a scabby mud fever like rash on his back legs when he has too much. It's the first sign we get that spring grass is starting to come through....and this year they only have half the field they normally have as the rest is a swamp.

I mowed my lawn the other day so I know its coming through...my rested paddock is noticeably greener than it was last week

Eek! I suggested to someone the other day that 'winter' is over. My mares winter coat is all but gone and the grass is indeed lush and green. I was riding in a t-shirt on Monday - and still too warm.

My boy hasn't really changed shape since he arrived November 2014 (he got too thin for my liking during summer for a week or so as they ate through the grass quicker than i could move the fencing) and I can still feel all his ribs easily, he is out 24/7 with 2 feeds a day and hay once a day they have a a huge field with a decent amount of grass but naff all goodness in it. Even the cobs lost a few lbs since summer which is good even though she's built like an absolute tank

Fatty is looking far too well despite being fit and hunting a break because of the extreme wet has taken it's toll and for the first time ever in winter I have started restricting his forage .
