My horses are covered in mud all the time now! I feel sorry for the farrier when he comes next week lol How are you all coping with this wet, muddy weather in the fields! The mud is so bad in parts of the field.

The horses are not doing too badly, on the top of a hill with big bales, but the hens are practically swimming if they want to go out and the cockerals are the same even when in. I'm going to have to get them moved pdq I think! I saw a field full of wet and very muddy sheep today, all clambering around a big bale, I don't think I have ever seen sheep in that state before, in fact I didn't think they could cope with those conditions. The field they were in only ever has sheep on but looks like it has had herds of horses galloping around it, the mud was so bad.

I'm not. I've given up. The wonder horse hasn't been out for nearly 4 weeks. Last few times he was out he just stood at the gate looking bereft. Fortunately he's a pipe and slippers kinda guy and is happy in his rocking chair with his knitting but even if he was miserable indoors I'd still rather he was warm and dry and miserable than cold and wet and miserable. He's ridden 2-3 times a week and goes on the walker most days.

Having said that he's been out today and enjoyed playing with the youngsters as (whisper) it had stopped raining for once.
