rspca tell woman not to feed and water neglected horse - 4th post down -

[ QUOTE ]
......My missus and her friend mucked out, fed and watered this animal otherwise it would have died. The r.s.p.c.a told her NOT to feed and water it in order for them to get a conviction. They actually expected her to feed and water her own animal while the one in the next stable was left without. All they cared about was getting the conviction of the owner, not the welfare of the animal. Feckin clowns......

Quite Frankly

I wouldn't give the RSPCA the time of day. They are the biggest waste of space and 100% not intestested in animals, only politics. Hate the f*ckers.

Sorry!

[/ QUOTE ]

I doubt I need to tell you that I totally agree.

If a horse is being fed and watered the RSPCA cannot do anything. I assume this still stands despite the new Animal Welfare Act.

RSPCA told us this before, the people who owned the horses we were worried about had done a bunk in the night, and the horses were thirsty but they wouldn't do anything!!

In the past few months I have learnt alot about the rspca. Not many people have anything good to say about them.

How they manage to get the public to continue to support them is beyond me.

How typically RSPCA of them....

I (naively, or stupidly) phoned them when I got Henry home...apparantly I shouldn't have gotten him in bad condition, I should have left him there, and the 'inspector' decided that obviously the other horses were fine as the guy had "Feed and wormer on the premises...."

Obviously it serves just as gooder purpose sat in a shed going off....

I invited him down to meet Henry, see photo's of the balls of worms I got out, his feet and see what the vet had done already...but nope, not interested....

Then they turn up on my doorstep a few weeks later over my emaciated horse.....

PM me if you'd like to see photos of what the RSPCA deem to be 'fair condition'....

People can think what they want to about the RSPCA and you don't need to be a genius to figure out why this thread has been posted with the case RSPCA vs J.G going on....Anything to discredit them......sounds very different from my experienca a couple of years ago, they had NO problem with me feeding Tia(the neglcted horse) i just had to write a statement that I had supplied the animal with food and not the owner that they succesfully charged

I believe it I was once told not to phone them till one of the horses died (similar circumstances to above)

Myjack- isnt there ALWAYS two side to every story.
How do you know that what the person on the forum is telling you is true- THINK!!!
It's the same crock that you have been trying to feed us about the JG case. This just comes across as point scoring to validate what you have been saying about the organisation. With no real hard facts or evidence- there is NO proof that the RSPCA told them to starve and deprive of water. Just word of mouth- and we all know not to believe everything we read

Fell free to PM me with that information or pics.
My point being not EVERYONE has had or suffered bad experiences with them. MYjack knocks the organisation at most opportunity and I believe this is just another way for her to do so. But how can she expect us not to believe what is in the press but what is reported on another forum. i may be missing something here???????

Flintus-Woud YOU like to see what the RSPCA deemed as acceptable condition for Henry to be in when at a dealers yard....?

[/ QUOTE ]

i would...post it !!!!

I know under the old welfare laws they couldnt get involved if the animal was being fed or watered by anyone, not necessarily the owner. I had hoped this had changed under the new act but it would appear not, what a waste of an opportunity. I am not impressed with the RSPCA, and tbh think that unless the other welfare organisations had been involved the whole JG thing would have remained as it was. They need some serious crisis management training and to fully understand what they are employed to do. They are the ones with the welly to prosecute though so should be applauded for that at least. Make negligence calls to the serious agencies such as ILPH and let them bring in the RSPCA for the prosecution part!

I phoned the RSPCA because a dog chased a fox onto my yard, cornered it and ripped half its face off before the owner turned up. The RSPCA said they'd only come out if I could catch it and lock in a stable.

I'm sure it would be different if Rolf Harris made the call.....

Oh - yes, I've had one of these.

Bloody great big Seagull with a broken wing - RSPCA would only collect it if it was boxed - because they weren't trained to deal with this sort of thing. WTF???

I actually made a comment about Rolf Harris - and Animal Hospital, and was told that Well, that was TV wasn't it?
frown.gif

I simply told them who I worked for - and how that particular comment would be over the front page of every national paper the next morning if the inspector wasn't here within the hour to box it and take it.

He was and he did!

I'm waiting for him to stand up so that I can take a clearer pic lol he's snoozing still, or shall I just post the fuzzy-ish JM? Could you make enough out?

I also want to make sure that everyone is 100% clear that I want no negative comments re; Henry himself. Yes, he's in a bad way, yes, he's an older boy, but he's happy, enjoying life and getting better.

well, IMO if ANYONE replies in a negative way towards YOU penny, then they are truely ignorant as far as horse welfare is concerned..
what you have written in your pm's is, IMO the best treatment that henry can receive...

best of luck and best wishes for a full recovery to Henry!!!

Ok.....

Here's a photo taken stood at his shoulder looking towards his bum....

Not too clear and his matted coat didn't help...clearer ones will follow shortly

Oooh dear. Poor chap. And thats acceptable is it???? Please post more, Id be very interested to see how he progresses over time.

Sorry, I'm not up to speed on this.

But I gather from what you've said that the RSPCA say that this is a horse in reasonable condition??
