How bad is this??

Problem is the RSPCA for many is just a job, infact being an animal lover let me tell you catergorically that I would not and could not work for the RSPCA. Too much pain and suffering and too many stupid restrictive laws and policies...

For that very reason you probably get people who are not quite so devoted doing the job and therefore not doing it as well as true animal lovers would.
Perhaps that is the nature of the beast?

How typically RSPCA of them....

I (naively, or stupidly) phoned them when I got Henry home...apparantly I shouldn't have gotten him in bad condition, I should have left him there, and the 'inspector' decided that obviously the other horses were fine as the guy had "Feed and wormer on the premises...."

Obviously it serves just as gooder purpose sat in a shed going off....

I invited him down to meet Henry, see photo's of the balls of worms I got out, his feet and see what the vet had done already...but nope, not interested....

Then they turn up on my doorstep a few weeks later over my emaciated horse.....

PM me if you'd like to see photos of what the RSPCA deem to be 'fair condition'....

[/ QUOTE ]

Well thank God YOU got henry instead of them - goodness knows what may have happened to him.

People can think what they want to about the RSPCA and you don't need to be a genius to figure out why this thread has been posted with the case RSPCA vs J.G going on....Anything to discredit them......sounds very different from my experienca a couple of years ago, they had NO problem with me feeding Tia(the neglcted horse) i just had to write a statement that I had supplied the animal with food and not the owner that they succesfully charged

[/ QUOTE ]

Well of course PW - youv'e NEVER had a bad word to say about them. You are stuck so far up their behind that it's painfully clear that you don't know which end of your body to speak from. If yor memory can actually be loyal to you for once - you'll remember that you saw the SF animals the very night they got taken - YOU said so yourself. Umm!!

Myjack- isnt there ALWAYS two side to every story.
How do you know that what the person on the forum is telling you is true- THINK!!!.

I have THOUGHT!!! ....and SPOKEN to individuals - Plenty.

It's the same crock that you have been trying to feed us about the JG case.

[/ QUOTE ]

....and that crock is??

[ QUOTE ]
This just comes across as point scoring to validate what you have been saying about the organisation. With no real hard facts or evidence- there is NO proof that the RSPCA told them to starve and deprive of water. Just word of mouth- and we all know not to believe everything we read

[/ QUOTE ]

Really?? Well it's your right to think what you want but how do you know this?

Ok.....

Here's a photo taken stood at his shoulder looking towards his bum....

Not too clear and his matted coat didn't help...clearer ones will follow shortly

shocking isn't it? Unfortunately I see this on a fairly regular basis. How ANYONE can say that this horse was in reasonable condition defies me. Good on Penny for taking him on and rehabilitating him

Yes good on Penny - and yourself for taking these poor souls in.

How such a condition can be deemed as alright is sickening.

The thinest of JG animals looked obese compared to poor Henry.

You are very defensive about the RSPCA Flintus.....is there any particular reason why?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes- I have never had a bad experience with them and only judge on how I am treated by others. I am in NO way affiliated with them. I think for the bad they do- the times they get it right is cast aside.

Myjack- how do i know? I dont- There isnt reason for me to believe it also but I dont believe everything that is written on public forums.

Fair enough - don't believe it then - thats your right and your choice.

Thanks hun! Able to make my own judgement on things -
Propaganda doesnt master in the whole scheme of things.

I don't think you will be content until the rspca is suffering the same judgement and treatment that you believe JG has been subjected to. Just another opinion, mind

This is horse that we rescued last year. Admittedly the RSPCA weren't involved but we see an awful lot of horses that are in pretty much similar condition to her and nothing is done

BER - I LOVE YOU.

You have done a fantastic job with that little girl. Thank you.

believe it or not she is 27 years old....she was written off....had been a brood mare for years until she couldn't cope any longer and was going to the knackers.....just shows what can be done with determination and a horse who has the will to live

It hurts to think that there are so many more like her who will sadly end up at the knackers - those who have a will to live but are not given the chance.

JM07 also gives these types a chance. I take my hat off to the pair of you.

I've been very impressed by what JM07 has produced from what other people have written off. She has a great eye for horses and is compassionate without allowing sentiment to cloud her vision. If only more people had that sort of vision there would be a lot more happy healthy horses

I think that a lot of people would do what JM and myself do if they had the facilities. Unfortunately not everyone does and when you have to pay per horse it's just not viable

Great work, she looks fab now.

Wasnt she from france though (or still in france), so the RSPCA would not have been involved to be fair or any other British organisation.

You rescuing her was life saving, please do not think i am taking anything away from that.

Yes she is in France and will stay there. What I am trying to portray is that there are horses like this everywhere and I did say that the RSPCA weren't involved. Chantelle has been our biggest success story which is why I posted her picture. If you look on the website you'll see pics of Mack, our grey sports horse who wasn't much better than Chan when we took him in, he was 300kg underweight and is now the picture of health...Bella, the 3 yr old TB with foal at foot could barely stand up when I took her....the list goes on and at no point did the RSPCA investigate ANY of those horses.

I understand where you are coming from totally.

Sadly there are many horses in this country and others that suffer in a very similar way. Too many are less fortunate than the ones who have been lucky enough to be rescued.

I was trying to point out that it maybe isnt fair to show a case that the RSPCA has had no opportunity to help or intervene with.

I am not siding with the RSPCA, as you know i rescue myself, but I am just trying to balance out the discussion so it does not become one sided.
