How beneficial would a jumping saddle be?

My daughter is a bit tall for her 14.1 pony and she does mostly SJ and some ODE and HT.

She has a Collegiate GP saddle.

I am wondering if she would benefit from a more forward cut jumping saddle? I'm guessing it would bring her leg up a bit (sometimes her toes knock pony's elbow).

Her instructor has taught her a jumping position that is beneficial to the pony, but I just wonder if we should change her saddle.

Thing is, I can't afford to spend alot and may have to PX her current saddle whcih means if she did an ODE she would have to dressage in a forward cut saddle.

Opinions please

I would say jumping saddle really, by the sounds of it it would help them out a bit!

Dressaging in a jumping saddle is fine, the thing is to look for a saddle without huge thigh rolls so she can bring her leg back and round for a better dressage position.

Hope that helps.

Have you tried posting this in Comp?

I would say it would bring the leg up that little bit higher.

If she does more jumping than anything else, consider going for the jumping saddle now and then get a GP or dressage saddle at some other point? I suppose a lot depends on how long she is going to keep riding this neddy...

I am just buying a jump saddle to replace my GP as the GP restricted me at the front (knees were on top of the knee rolls) and at the back (cantle height meant I had to ride 1 hole shorter to avoid bouncing on it XC.

Got a bespoke jump saddle for a week from my saddler to see how I like it, and how my instructor likes it.
