I bought this pony on 19th November 2011. She was standing at just over 13hh. We measured her last week and she is now standing at 13.3hh. I know nothing of her breeding other than she is a New Forest X, out of a coloured mare on the forest, but covered by any one of three of the stallions which ran in her area. How big do you think she could make? The photos probably don't look much different, but she has chunked out tremendously in four months!

This was her on the first day when we got her home

And here are some of her today - she will be 3 in May.

She really is gorgeous, i would have thought perhaps 14.1hh/14.2hh? Have you decided to keep her?

I think I might as long as she fills out - I hope that she might make 14hh at least. I'll still look big on her though - if she makes 14.2hh it will be a real bonus. The photos don't really show it very well, but she is very bum high at the moment - she seems to be growing daily!

Looks like she'll grow a bit alright. Wouldn't like to speculate as to final height, but there is a pretty reliable measurement that you can do which works- use a piece of string to measure from elbow to ergot; then use this length from elbow to withers - however much over the present withers will be VERY close to mature height. I've used this with over 80 foals and it has proved to be pretty accurate.

She looks bum high to me which is why I think she'll make another couple of inches. I'm 5'7" and rode a lovely 13.2hh NF without looking big on her. I just love your filly!

Thank you - I'm really pleased with her so far. Nice to hear you've ridden one smaller than her! I'm 5'6", but a bit too heavy at the moment, but I know that and I will lose weight - I just need some motivation!

Cortez - I tried the sting test and it definitely looks like there's a couple more inches to grow....fingers crossed!
