I have a lovely, leggy Oldenburg filly who is 16 month old and approx standing at 15hh at present. Any idea how I can work out a guesstimate of what she'll mature too?
Her Sire is 16.3hh (Balouet du Rouet) and her dam is approx 15.2hh.
 
I had a 15.2 pure-bred Irish Draught mare - 7 of her foals (all by the same 17hh RID stallion) are now 5 or above - so pretty mature. The height of these foals is between 15.3 and 18.2hh. NONE of them looked bigger than normal as yearlings ('normal' would have been 16.1-16.2). This is NOT the only 'problem' I've had - plenty of my mares have had 'odd' size foals, and plenty of the foals have shown a bit of an unusual growth spurt. Unless Oldenburg's bloodlines are MUCH older, there is virtually nothing you can do except guess. If I had to guess at the mature height of your Oldenburg (and I know NOTHING specific to Oldenburgs) I would guess at a mature height of 15.3-16hh - but I sure wouldn't put money on it!
