This morning I have been contacted via email by two previous owners of two of my horses. I am absolutely thrilled to bits and I replied immediately. They are sending me some photos of the horses when they had them, one is phoning me tonight and has asked if she can come down and ride the horse. The other is the breeder of one of mine and is mailing me photos of him as a baby!!

I find things like this sooo cool!

Isn't it lovely when you find out personal history (not just paperwork and papers) about your horses.

Not exactly bizarre, more touching

I would be thrilled if this had happened to me, you sound chuffed to bits that they have emailed you and are sending you pictures.
I would love to know my boy's personal history, as I know the full details of the shires as they are homebred.

I love staying in contact with all the horses I have ever had. I have only lost contact with a few. I always keep in contact with breeders whether they want me to or not. PMSL!

im lucky with bear as he came from a lady i know quite well that lives down the road from my field and she got him at 6 months old, and she's the person im buying my colt off of!!!
and she originally rescued my welsh A from nasty horrible people that left his hock open and infected after getting caught up in barbed wire as a yearling. B*****DS

i like the way she brings up her horses!!!

April's very first owner who got her when she was 5 (she's 20 odd now!) noticed us on our RC website!

April went out of the area for about 5 years before going to my YO and her old owner was delighted to see her again.
We also ran into each other at a x country training day where she terrified me by telling me she could never jump April as it was too scary LOL. She must have calmed down in her old age.

I was in touch with my old ponies new owners until they both passed away, was lovely to hear about them.

Yes I like to keep in touch with any of mine I have sold in the past, but rarely does it happen to me that people try to find the owner of their previous horses. The majority of my horses here, I bought from their breeders so I have full service history on them....but there are a small handful where although I know the owners names because they are on their papers, I know nothing about the personal history of the horses. I am thrilled and dying to speak to the lady this evening.

How lovely!! I keep meaning to contact Mickey's breeder to let them know he still hasn't grown up!! And find out how big his dam was... It's always said that I'm too curious, and I'd love to know more about my horses past.
