Again. Stop. I said I've learnt my lesson yet you all feel the need to keep banging on about what a petulant, bratty and immature child I am.

I am saying I hear you loud and clear. You don't need to keep repeating yourselves. Can you please just stop with the argument now. I am saying that I have heard what you've said.

Stop.

No one said that's what you are..no one has right to say that...it's a forum where no one actually knows you, remember that! They were saying that's how you were coming across. The great thing about forums is you can walk away whenever you want with the information you want and leave what you don't want behind :) best of luck to you getting a horse you love, whatever age it may be :)

So report your OP and get the thread locked or pulled or just switch the damned computer off.

l.ark - I can't see any rudeness, or name calling on here. Some blunt points, yes, but nothing you wouldn't get off people in real life (and you'd get it much worse at livery yards, particularly with a youngster!)

If you really are offended by things on here, it's really easy. Just click the 'log out' icon at the top of the page.

FWIW, I don't like seeing people make excuses with conditions. I'm seeing it a lot on this board now. Things like 'I'm really upset now you disagreed with me, I have depression and you're making life hard', just doesn't strike me as genuine. If I say I'm depressed, does that mean everyone has to agree with what I've written and be nice? Just using the depression as an example. I'm lucky never to have suffered from it but I know if I did have it, I wouldn't antagonise myself by splaying it across the forum or using it to deflect my (potentially controversial) posts. Maybe it's just me.

(Sorry if this post comes across as horrible, but don't have a go as I'm diabetic and the stress might lower my blood sugar too much.....)

I have not read the last few pages (gave up at page 6 I think it was),and have to say it did seem to be a bit of a wind up initially (basing that purely on the amount of times OP said she wasn't getting a horse now, just seemed attention seeking and the complete over reaction to peoples advice),but not so sure now as OP does seem genuinely distressed at peoples comments, perhaps she is over sensitive due to other problems right now,in which case I sincerely hope she can see this in a different light at some point and realise people meant no harm.

As for getting a youngster getting a youngster, well I don't see why that's an issue TBH.One of the most important aspects with brining on a youngster is confidence and a certain gung ho attitiude.
Most teenagers I know are far more equipped to deal with a youngster in that respect than many older riders.
You can pay for professional help for most training issues, but you can't buy confidence.

I have a 15 yr old sharer (who has done wonders with my not very straight forward youngster),and I suggested her parents get her a youngster as her first horse, she would have been fine with it,had loads of fun and gained a shed load of experience.

As it goes they went for something older and have had nothing but health issues with it.Down side of an older horse I guess, wear and tear.
