My black horse somehow goes lighter in winter so is now sporting black body and lighter almost bay legs, where his body was clipped but not legs
Do to do first showing class next week so would live to get legs darker.

No idea how to do it in a week I'm afraid. I've always found really black coats to be a combination of diet and exercise.

Sorry...can't resist! Boot polish! :p

On another note, I hope someone can help you. I spent almost 12 years at the other end of the spectrum- trying to keep a grey grey!

There are various show products which you can use to darken legs. I can't remember any specific brands but there is a black coat spray which is really good. If I remember I'll dig it out 2moro and let you know the make.

Lynh. Thanks. I remember seeing that ages ago, but forgot about it. However I didn't know anyone who had used it.

Lol on just for men.

Theres lots of 'horse make-up' on the market show supreme I think is one.

I know a fair few people who use non permanant human hair dye aswell!

Diet. If there's a shortfall of copper it can turn a black coat brown. My bay ihas a good supplement high in copper or she'll get brown streaks in her mane and tail.
