as above, his rug rubs his mane away, i have a hoodie for him but i think it only for use in stable and cant afford anything too expensive also his mostly wears a no neck rug which makes it worse :(
any good ideas an tips ?
:)

its not the neck coer bit that rubs its right at the bottom of his mane where the fleecey pad bit of the rug is

i am not buying any more rugs im not made of money! just bought a new stable rug! nd he already has a middleweight he doesnt need another

I find the only rugs that don't remove manes are the horseware ones tbh, and the ones with the shiny material on the full neck bit.

If you can't afford a new rug, I don't see how you're going to keep his mane, sorry :)

Unless you can sell his old ones and buy new/secondhand ones to replace? :)

what about a anti-rub vest? these sometimes help especially the padded ones for wither protection! my boy is really odd! I lose his mane in a 'standard' neck yet he can live in 'full' necks with no problems! I think it's weatherbeeta or similar for the vest another alternative is to sow an old t-shirt or something shiny round the neck-line to stop/prevent rubbing.

waterford twist - do you have a pic or can you find one on the net? sounds good
horsecrazy - try and find me a turnout hoody then thats not mega expensive

default.aspx

would this work?

Can't see pic:confused:

haven't got any pics i'm afraid! think derby house sell the weatherbeeta vest tho! try the hood in the field or buy a cheap one off ebay to test it first! obviously not waterproof tho! probs why they're not designed for turnout use!

:D glad about that! was starting to feel a little thick or that i'd read it wrong! :D have a look at bossys bibs too! they're super shiny but thin but they should work too & save your shoulders too! :D

im gonna get that quilted one like monkey bum for when he wears his no neck and his hoody is fine if its under his full neck
