If your horse is fairly reliable to jump once you are set up for a jump put your reins in one hand and put your spare arm behind your back about waist height or slightly above. This helps straighten your back. The best thing is to do it down grids.
 
I do exactly the same thing as you! I was told to think of folding at the hips rather than the waist, so your almost pushing your bum out away from the saddle and your belly towards the saddle.
 
I used to do it so I jumped a few sessions with my body protector and it was so uncomfortable to round my back I stopped -laughs- Now I don't do it anymore. But the others suggestions might be slightly better.
