friend has her cob up for sale for £3300(price reduced),you probably remember me posting pics while back, well we got some cracking pics, advertised them...however since then his flatwork has improved immensely and he could now easily jump an intermediate track showjumping....however you can stick a novice on board and he dosnt put a foot wrong!!
Woman came to try him today for a riding school(very reputable one),novice 12yr old rode him first, walk trot and canter(kick kick, lol)and small jump, the gorgeous guy didnt put a foot wrong,he never does...YO then got on him...working in an outline, cracking paces, off the leg, jumping 3ft

...buyer tried really impressed,offered £2200

...we nearly fell over,ok knock off £300 but £1100

,she was told in no uncertain terms NO,answer well i cant afford to go any higher???Why the hell try a horse when you know the price and be cheeky enough to ask if they will drop by over a grand

Yep people will try their luck ... however you do need to be sure your pricing is correct. If this happens a few times then I think your friend needs to re-evaluate her pricing. Most of my buyers don't even bother to bump me down as I am very careful about either pricing them correctly to sell - or the ones I don't really want to sell I bump waaaay up

, and hey if someone wants to pay that price, fine by me.

ive had it i had a mare for sale at 3000 the woman spoke to me many times on the phone, they wanted a hunting horse, 3 weeks later they came to try her, horse went perfect, cantered her on a 3ft grass verge on a main road jumped her, saw her hosed off etc, then had the cheek to offer me half the price, my reponce was my husband will shut the gate behind you, and walked off,

on a slightly different note, when i went to see my current horse he was advertised at 5k, ( andalusion pre well bred) which was dirt cheap. but due to hes current life (jousting/trick/film horse) he wasnt a normal run of the mill horse, he also has very mild copd he was my dream horse, after trying him there was a lot of pros/cons so i decided to go back with a daft offer, fate and all that, so i offered 2k under price, and after some tried haggling from the seller horse was mine. cheeky as hell put hey , the seller will either think about about it, or tell u to f off. nothing lost in my book.
