I've just realised that I have quite a collection of colors of horses/ponies at home at the moment, I've a fleabitten grey, steel grey, bright bay, dark bay, skewbald, palamino, liver chestnut, bright chestnut (as in orange!) and a light chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. I reckon that's quite a good mix for a small yard, especially as color is the one thing I don't take into consideration when I'm buying a horse!! I've also a black pony who is out on loan and have previously had a dun, dapple grey and spotted. I think all I'm missing is a piebald and a roan!! So how colorful is your yard and is color important when you're buying a horse?!!

Currently have one blue roan, one bright chestnut with roaning and varnish marks, one piebald and one chestnut leopard spot (mainly white now due to age) have had a steel grey and a strwberry roan in the past, so pretty odd colours!

pmsl......omg what a collection of colours!!! at least you will always be able to tell who is who at the far end of the field rather than a bunch of grey's!! no horse is important not the colour

used to think colour important but personality won the day when i chose my boy
we make up for the lack of colour with lots of gaudy water and feed buckets though

We've got about 40 horses on our yard so a real mix of colours...

Strawberry Roan
Lots of Bays (dark and light)
couple of Chestnuts including one "Baked Bean" chestnut!
2 skewbalds although one is really a tri-colour
Appolosa,
Dapple grey
Regular Grey
Fleebitten grey
Cream (with the blue eyes)
Black
Dun (fiord pony so has the amazing black and dun mane as well)
Palaminos (lots as all the hafflingers are palamino)
Chestnut with flaxen mane/tail

We haven't got a blue roan, a piebald or a brown... but we have most other colours floating about somewhere!

bay, appaloosa, palomino, black, flea bitten grey, dapple grey, piebald and 5 chesnuts. Thats quite a good range of colours i think considering that includes all the horses on the yard and that its quite small yard.

12 in our playground.

2 dapple grey
1 pali
6 bay/brown
1 blue roan shetty
1 chestnut
1 orange roan

There are far too many horses on the yard to go through but my family has 4 bays (all different shades) one chestnut (very orange) and one lighter chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. In the past we have had coloureds and greys too.

We have a bay roan, two greys, a dappled grey, three bays, a strawberry roan, five chesnuts, a chesnut flaxen and a dark bay.

4 greys
1 birght bay
2 dark bay
1 normal bay
1 liver chestnut
1 bright chestnut
1 piebald
1 skewbald
1 dun

colour plays no part in my choice of horses.

We have 3 bays (all different shades ranging from chocolatey dun bay to a bright orange bay), a black/brown and a very very dark grey.

well our yard is a private one so only a few neds.
we have
2 skewbald tobiano's
2 chesnut and whites
1 bright bay
1 dark bay.
Guess you can tell we are loving are coloureds!! haha

Not on a yard (yet) but i've got/had-

Cremello
Dun
Bay Roan
Bay
Black
Grey

Bay and Black are in-foal and will 100% have Chestnut, Bay or Black Tabiano.

And 2 liveries (super_kat's girls) are both Chestnut.

Cairo - sabino clydesdale - he is very difficult to describe - sort of roan/bay with spots and flecks, white legs and white belly - he is used as an example of a sabino in model horse magazine.

Chancer - skewbald - with black and white mane, black tail

Chessy - dun

Bobby - blanket spots

Stella - good old chesnut

There are 12 on our yard - 5 of which are black. Plus 1 solid chestnut, 1 chestnut with flaxen mane & tail, 3 dark bays, 1 bright bay, and 1 palimino. Nothing overly unusual - never seen so many black horses in one place though..... x
