How common is it...???

For a horse/pony to lay down/roll when eating their dinner/ head in feed bowl.
I've known 3, strangly all ponies, over the years including one of mine.
I once got told it is simalar to when a horse raises their front legs while eating dinner, a sign that they are enjoying it,

Any opinion would be very interesting.

Jasper does this in the summer when they're fed in the field, but only in Jens empty bucket?!

Mine does this nearly every night, the first time he did it I was worried for colic he kept getting up and down with his head in bucket, now I know its just his habbit.

Mine will occassionally. Especially when she was younger, she liked her snooze in the morning and if she could eat at the same time - perfect.
