I also feel like I have a point to prove, and that I need good results. God knows why anyone would bother looking up my poor BE results!

I am competitive but it varied depending what competitve situation im in. When im doing a class/level I know we can do well in, I really do want to do well in it so not to let myself or my horse down. If competiting in a higher level that is a new challenge to us then I just want to complete, enjoy and perhas get a half decent result to give us the confidence to go out and do it again

I'm not that competative really. I'm just happy if my horse goes well.
I've never been one to go for double clears SJ though!

Im very competitive. I go out with the aim to do well (with the exception of pure dressage which I hate and therefore rarely do well in!).
Although, of course if the horse is young then I am happy with small achievements like getting clear rounds etc. rather than getting in the ribbons.
Otherwise, RC level stuff I always go out with the aim to win. If its BSJA, then again I aim to win one class that day and if I dont then I am disappointed. BE, I am a bit less competitive - its so hard to get consistenly highly placed due to our dressage so Im always happy if my horse has done his best for me on the day and if I get placed then even better. I think it depends on the horse though, as with my other horse I dont expect so much of for some reason!
