I've noticed over a period of time that people seem to be proud of their horses mis behaving. Like they'll come back from the hack which was probably 99% fine and then focus on the fact "my horse bucked like a b*tch" or did a "Mahoosive spook" and just kind of concentrate on that. No-one ever seems to say how good their horse was, just focuses on the part of the ride their horse was a bum. Probably for a reason as well! And like, the perception it's "cool" to have the horse jogging along the road. Or kicking the horse on in the school then yanking ithim in the mouth to make him look naughty then tutting, shaking heads, and sighing "isn't he naughty".

Yes mine aren't saints and have their moments, but you make the best out of what you're getting on that day. When Gee was in work, if she was in a particularly sharp, stupid mood, I could get her to utilise her energy efficiently to push her forward and in actuality we'd end up having some of the better sessions! I'm always happy when they go like a dream, and if they have naughty moments, well, use them!!

Has anyone else found this? Grrrr.

I have definatley found this! So irritating especially when the horse was not actually being naughty. Also don't see why anyone would want to be boasting that their horse was naughty

Somehow this always happens when there is an audience though ....

Used to ride with a girl who did exactly that in the school. And she used to bad mouth the pony (her own pony!!) under her breath the whole time, I hated her riding anywhere near me as there was a constant stream of, 'god you're naughty! I really hate you!' type drivel and always yanking the pony and whipping it for nothing. One day our RI just said, ' X, get off your horse and get out of my arena! There is nothing wrong with your mare but YOU. Please give the horse to your sister to ride, your lesson is over.' Younger sister always rode the pony after that and never had a moment's trouble.
Older sister was a bit of an attention seeking Diva though...

I notice that to a degree on here as well, in some cases people almost compete who has the worse behaved horse so that they can come accross as amazing riders! I wouldn't be proud of bad behavior. Have to say this is aimed at a select few, just something I noticed.
