Just pondering as I've had a few that are cuddly and some not so. Can't say it's related to gender as my most cuddlest have been one of each

New lad is a huge built (16h) belgian draft X

Luckily for me.

He is so so gentle and cuddly, his coat is silky soft and he absolutely loves snuggles.
He is so sensitive, will only have the softest of brushes on his face. But loves it.

I've heard of others talk of 'gentle giants' and he certainly fits the bill

I have one rather standoffish mare and one that loves a good cuddle. She pulls you into a headlock when she wants a proper cwtch. I'm not usually one for overly fussy horses but she's beyond cute :o

Very.
My boy would cuddle anybody all day, he is very unloyal will take hugs and kisses wherever he can get them.
I always know when the yard owners dads been up(and shaved) as my boy's muzzle has the aroma of aftershave!!

That being said he'd still pick his dinner over a cuddle.

I've got a 16.3 Ish and he is also a sensitive boy he loves a groom but only with a very soft brush!! I've only had him a month but I'm noticing he has started to enjoy a snuggle but only with me 😘. He was previously a riding school horse and he hated lots of fussing but he's defenetly enjoying the indervidual attention and love ❤️

My gelding hates fuss and hugs, and because I'm a male he shrugs me off and moves away with a "get off your being gay" attitude, I still fuss and love him though, he's my big ginger sausage :-)

Mine loves attention, he will do kisses for treats and will groom me and full on lick my face when he feels he is being ignored (I have plenty of photos of him doing this :D ) He snuffles, snuggles and will rest his chin on my shoulder and do a big huff. If I am standing at his door chatting he will also rest his lips against the back of my neck, or lean his chin on my head (he is 17.3hh). If I point to my ear he will also hold it in his lips, lovely to warm me up on a cold winter evening!

Many wouldn't but I love it, wouldn't have him any other way. Although I am told that his sister was the complete opposite the second she was born. Tolerated humans at best.

My horse has become far friendlier since retiring, still not cuddly.
That award go's to shitland who is without doubt the most attention loving pony.
In fact yesterday I was away and he escaped into the long grass. Couldn't be caught obviously. It was the do you want a cuddle that won him round today!

My mare gives me her all when riding but she isn't the cuddliest horse in the world. She doesn't mind a quick cuddle but after that she would rather just be left alone. She isn't a massive fan of other horses either. She tolerates them but that is about as far as it goes with her.
My youngster is the biggest softie going. He loves attention and is so affectionate! It is so nice to have a horse that just wants to be constantly by your side or playing with you in the field while you try to poo pick.

Esme is the cuddliest, cutest, most irresistible little fluff-ball. She is a proper little time waster:

I moved my boys electric fence on Saturday while he was stuffing his fence I wandered off to start poo picking. Next thing I knew he came cantering over to me, skidded to a halt and put nose up to my mouth and pushed into me :-) his way of kissing.

What a love, I will also point out though that he can be a right grump if the mood takes him.

How sweet. My lad used to be a logger in the forest so don't think he got much attention

Haha I think that's very brave, I would be afraid he would accidently take my ear off

Oh how cute. If he is that cute how can you call him a 'shitland'?

Ahhh. I think my Belgian boy just tolerates everyone snogging his gorgeous nose but he absolutely adores babies! Hold a baby up and he's there for a snuggle even though his head is bigger than them!

Mine's a reet soppy sod. He loves a good cuddle. I cuddled a horse at a show the other week & it curled its neck round for a proper cuddle. Hubby was a bit alarmed, then realised we were having scratches & all was fine.

My gelding is not very cuddly - he tries to hide if I want a cuddle. My mare can be very cuddly at times, but likewise she can have days where she would rather ignore me completely!

Alf likes a bit of fuss, but prefers scratching to cuddles. He's friendly, and follows me round, fluttering his nostrils when I talk to him, but he wouldn't thank me if I started wrapping my arms round his neck!

Two cuddly geldings (the ISH is just too much and you struggle to get anything done in the stable!) the KWPN is also very licky in addition to cuddly. The latter is extremely good at knowing if you are having a bad day or ill and is extra affectionate then. Our KWPN mare is an attention soak but not great at keeping still unless sleepy - short attention span.

I have a cuddly big sop of a Friesian. He has quickly won over all the girls at the new yard, managing to sneak a cuddle from anyone who walks past...

He nickers when he sees you, gives you the big doey eyes through the long flowing black forelock look ( which he has mastered to a tee). Ironically he wants cuddles from everyone, but if I give a another horse any attention he pulls some hilarious faces... Boys!

Oh, on a par with any spiky thing, hedgehog, porcupine, barbed wire.

She really can't be doing with people unless she is under tack and then her personality changes.

Hates, and I mean loathes, children with a vengeance, when I stall her at a friends place sometimes when riding where the kids for some reason adore her, she stands in the middle of the stall with her ears flat back, snarling and stomping her feet, exactly as she does to any creature that gets in her way, except with creatures she will attack, you know chickens, cats, coyotes.... the last coyote to cross her paddock did not fare well. I hasten to add that her threats towards humans are empty, she wouldn't dream of hurting a person, she just doesn't like us much as a species.

She is an angry 13.1h midget.

My other mare is the polar opposite :)

My gelding is a cuddly boy. He enjoys fuss but needs to be in the right mood. I don't think his affections are limited to me though, though my YO and her partner don't tend to fuss him. I'm quite sure he'd accept some love from anyone. He's also very licky.

Mine will stand for a cuddle and a fuss if she has to. It does mean that cuddly moments are are but more special for it. But I do wish she was a bit less independent and a bit more cuddly sometimes! My last and current share horses have both been proper cuddly ones and it's great.

Mine doesn't overly like cuddles he will allow them sometimes from me but not always. He prefers to show his love by lowering his head and resting it against my stomach so i can cuddle his head basically. He will only do that with me though if others try he will knock them away with his head. He was not fond of being groomed when I got him so think it's just a case of understanding now that I won't hurt him like whoever did before I got him.

He will usually groom whoever is doing his hooves. With me though he prefers just to lift my top up as far as he can for fun. He would be the boy in the playground kissing the girls when they don't want to be kissed if he was human haha.

He claims NOT to be cuddly. If I try a quick muzzle nuzzle and he can see I'm watching him he'll look very long-suffering and generally "don't be such a gayer". But if he thinks you're not looking at him, an expression of great delight is apparent!

Mine aren't particularly cuddly, but they do love company, and will often stand with their noses on your shoulder, if you're standing outside their doors.

It's taken a looong time for Tartine to really relax, and it has only been this summer (after 3 years of ownership) that I've seen her start to groom Blitz - he is now in 7th heaven.

I have a mare.

She loves cuddles. She also stops to see if passers by would like to administer some attention to her. If my instructor says 'well done', she thinks that's her cue to go to the instructor for a pat. She stands with her head resting on my shoulder when we're at shows. She'll lean her head against my chest and let out a long, satisfied sigh.

However, none of this will happen if everyone else is going out and she isn't. Or there is some action that she believes she should be involved in. Or there's something exciting going on, like the hounds out on exercise. Then she stamps her feet, pulls faces, barges, pushes, fidgets and is generally very rude indeed and must be squared up. This often catches those who see her cuddly side quite unawares.
