Well it was the area qualifiers at Goudhurst yesterday and i know there were some from here going...

I was there doing the Riding Test6 and Prelim 13, well didnt start of well when someone (namely me) forgot her riding boots duh and only realised when we were like 5mins from the show lol

So urgent rush round looking for other RC members so i could borrow some gaiters as i had my jods boots on. Luckily found some to borrow so tacked up and went to warm up...It was utterly heaving and there was tons of horses on the warm up area, people just coming at you from all angles lol! Think FinnMcoul ended up having a row with the steward as the whole thing wasnt very well organised lol...

So Riding Test first - went ok, a few dodgy moments which could have been better and we stepped back on our halt at the end, damn. Think we got about 110 or somthing like that, oh well

Then a short break and onto the Prelim 13, Star I have to say was being an angel and took it all in her stride

Well got the ring and before i knew it the horn had gone - hadnt even trotted round the ring!!

quick turn into the areana and it started - was all going well until OMG i went wrong, for some reason i forgot to do a complete 20m circle..so did it again and carried on....and OMG i did it again in the canter circle WHY OH WHY!!!!, the judge actually got out her car and told me to go back to a certain point and start again. So after that continued on to a nice test and finished ok. I could have kicked myself, i do not know what was going on there...grrrr

Anyway I still got a fairly good mark even with the errors of i think 145?? Found out later that we didnt qualify either in the team or individual...oh well...:(

Well thanks to Finn for coming along and helping - she also had a little ride on Star to get the feel of her at a show. She is going to her this weekend so will be wishing her all the luck with Star and hopefully they can contine bringing home the rosettes hehe

You and I both had a blonde moment then as I went wrong twice in the Prelim at Stilebridge and forgot my spurs!
Well done though

I was there too! I did RT8 and N21.... the warm-up was a bit manic (as was the horsebox area - loose horses etc) but Pasha did me proud and took it all in his stride!

RT8 is horrible - never doing it ever again and it goes on forever!! Pasha didn't put a foot wrong and we did a nice flowing test.... I got 120/60%. I was a little dissapointed as some of the others I watched were dreadful and they got better marks than me... never mind.

We had a two hour wait for our next test - yawn and I watched some of the dressage to music which was fab - definately going to try that next year!

N21 is one of my favourite tests although I prefer more Medium work.... we usually get good marks with BD judges but I came out with only 122/61%.... again I was a bit miffed as Pasha went beautifully and we didn't make any mistakes, although he could have been more forward in the canter work....

All in all I was very pleased with how my old man behaved so not all bad! I'm not sure yet how the rest of the team did as we shot off straight after my second test.... will have to wait for the email

We had a good day. Did Riding Test 6. Wasn't that keen on doing it as I usually come last! But perhaps those lessons are paying off a little as we came 3rd individually, and team came 1st, so off to Lincoln we'll go in Sept!

Novice 21 wasn't so good. Came 11th with 61.5%. We didn't do either of the counter canters so I knew it wasn't going to be that brill, plus she always gets marked down for not having enough 'jump' in her canters - she tends to canter 4-time as she finds dressage canter too slow I think.

Not sure what they do with your test sheets if you didn't pick them up. We collected all for our members as we stayed to the end [as always!!]. Ended up with two huge bags of score sheets, and have told everyone they can collect from us when they see us.

If no one from your Club collected yours, you could try ringing the Secretary from Battle RC??

You'll have to look on the Area 10 website to see if you came anywhere in the Riding Test. That would be a nice surprise.... especially if it was a red 'un!!!
