In his stable! He'd only been shod 3 weeks. Luckily, the yard manager found him and he couldn't have been like it for long. We booted him up and tied him up incase he speared himself (which he would do!) and the farrier came quite quickly. (Manager tried but couldn't get it off.) But how did he do it? Farrier has no idea.1568403403429643.jpg

God only knows!

🤣

.

Aha there is another horse as impressive as my old boy when it comes to getting rid of shoes! I'm as clueless as you as to how they do it, but God it's annoying to deal with! Glad no damage done!

Have you searched the stable for any scuff marks of anywhere he could have caught it?
We did wonder if he got cast but couldn't find any marks. He's quite a heffalump so there would have been some marks.
He's fine, just hope he doesn't do it again.

Could it have become caught under the door and he’s pulled it back? I had a horse years ago that did this on the bottom of a door that was lined with a metal panel...which was also pulled oddly!

I'm going to check the door again tomorrow. There were no marks on the wall. He has promised not to do it again but I don't believe him.
