As you will probably have guessed I have a puppy now, and hes just had his second injections so will be able to get out and about soon, I am really wanting to introduce him to horses and the yard. But how do you go about it? How have you guys done it? Any suggestions would be lovely!!

If possible then I would just let the puppy run around the yard to have a good sniff around and get familiar with his/her surroundings (if this isn't possible try getting an extendible lead)
As for the horse, it depends how layed back your pony is?

Let them have a good sniff around the yard without the horses around. Introduce them to a quiet horse (as they will probably bark) who will sniff them back a bit. Make a fuss of the pup if it doesn't react. Build up visits. We just got a 1yr old dog, and have tied him up on the lunge rein while I mucked out every day, and led him whilst I led horses around - but that doesn't really apply to a puppy!

The horse is great with dogs, doesnt give a toss to be honest, its probably from all the years being around the hounds when he hunted. dogs are aloud on the yard thankfully which will make things easier and the horse is fine as long as he isnt bitten! But the pup is in no way loopy or aggressive. Do you have any tips for when taking dogs out with horses? Thankyou for your suggestions :D
