How did you make your sand turnout area ?

As the title says really, it would just be for turnout not riding in, how did you do it and what sand did you use.?

We scraped 4" of topsoil off a paddock.

Actually I don't need turnout areas precisely because of our soil, it floods very quickly, but half an hour later it has gone, very little mud which is rather nice.
