How did everyones horses get on last night? I'm in Kent and the wind was horrific. It was so loud. I don't have my own horse and I was glad because I would have worried like mad!
Mine were absolutely fine. Grazing peacefully when I got there this morning, and charged over because they saw that I had a bucket! Lots of trees down round here, and bits of barn all over my stableyard, so it was obv pretty harsh. I didn't sleep much last night worrying about them, but they just shrugged it off
Was worrying about my guys all night but no sign they've been at all upset , couple of branches down in the field and had to walk to them as there was a tree across the track but apart from that everything looks ok
mine intermittantly charged round bucking when a gust hit but grazed in between, I left him out and am glad i did as he was very spooky about coming into his stable when I out a net up at 5 am this morning in case he wanted to come in and shelter (with the door open ) - he wouldnt stay in it. he was much happier out being able to run when he wanted.
Mine were in and seem to have been fine. The older pair were totally relaxed and normal. The youngster had turned her bed up a bit but hadn't thrown her grooming kit around, which she usually does if she's upset! Out wasn't really an option, since our fields are all divided by electric fencing, but the barns are great sturdy things and nothing had stirred in the wind bar a forgotten dustbin!
Were happily grazing in the pouring rain first thing - really impressed with amigo no fill rugs that they were both dry underneath!!
Field is underwater so we really did have a lot of rain
Essex and they were out in electric fence paddocks and quite happy when I eventually managed to find a clear road to get to them! Round the corner someone's brand new field shelter was on it's back though.
Mine had apparently trashed their field and one was covered in dried sweat. They were sharing their field with two plastic greenhouses by morning, and the gate (wooden internal one) was broken. Not too bad, really...
Mine was out naked and was absolutely fine. He only came charging over to me this morning because he obviously thought he could have his muzzle off...wrong!Absolutely poured it down as the stream was close to bursting, there were lakes in the field but luckily the gale force winds dried him off this morning!
I don't think he had a very restful night . . . he was jumpy when he came in yesterday afternoon (proper Mr. McSnortyPants), the two ponies were back having been away competing since Thursday so that caused excitement and there was a little bit of damage at yard this morning - tree limbs down and perspex skylight blown off washroom roof (right next to Kal's stable, so he would have heard it but been unable to see it).
Z rode him on the flat this morning and he was tired, distracted and stiff . . . if I had to guess, I'd say he didn't get much sleep last night, bless him.
Oh, and we must have had loads of rain because all three of the front paddocks now have ponds in them .
However, if tired and stiff is all that's wrong with him, I'll take it. A calmer day in the field today and a quiet night tonight should be enough to see him come right. Hope so . . . we have a lesson with our new jump trainer tomorrow - eek!
In North Wiltshire, my horses were in, we did move one into a different barn that had less trees around it, i don't think they really noticed, all keen to go out this morning anyway. I hope everyone else got off as lightly
Mine were fine, tidy stables this morning, although I think we got off lightly in Glos. Don't think they were too impressed with being turned out in the pouring rain this morning though!
All fine this morning. I was expecting our shelter to have come down but it was still standing this morning. Some fence posts down, but luckily not the fields the horses were in so they didn't escape (not that they could have gone far anyway).
All 3 seemed fine. One stayed out in it, and earned brownie points for still being in his field when checked this morning, despite a tree having taken down the fencing!
Ours stayed out, and I'm glad. They've obviously been hooning about, but the barn roof has part fallen in and is being held up by power cables, so better out than in here! Only small branches have come down in the field.
All quietly grazing. One of the stallions was lying down sunbathing when I went to catch him this morning This despite a large area of the meadow being under water, and it still blowing hard.
Even with a complete numpty on board (one of my daughters' total novice 10yr old friend) they rode quietly this morning. Totally unfazed.
Wasn't worried at all, too tired! Mine were fine this morning and the rain had made them squeaky clean. One tree down on the electric fence but otherwise no problems, and had a nice lively ride this morning
