How do Bucas front fastenings work on their turnout rugs?

The one I had had a kind of concealed clip, the Velcro part just covers it. It’s very secure and easy to do.
Mine was a few years ago though. It was a Smartex

In reply to the second part of your question!
Personally I prefer Horseware. However the smartex I had was brilliant as I wanted it for a horse I couldn’t clip and lived out so
I could just chuck it on him wet and know for sure he’d be completely dry and warm.
However I did find when it rained he was always wet the bottom half of his body. It kept his back dry but when I took it off he was soaked lower down (think like a blanket clip, dry on top and the clipped bit soaked)
No idea why. He was TB so not massive and the rug appeared to fit nicely.

My donkeys have the Bucas Smartex (spoilt brats!) and they have a sort of magnetic clip fastening and velcro at the chest area - super easy to do up and the outer material comes back over the fastening completely, so the little darlings cant find any loose straps to undress each other. Undressing each other in very inclement weather was their favourite pastime in other makes of rug.

Sorry just edited to add I much prefer them to Horseware as they fit donkey shapes much better (smaller across the chest and shoulders). However for my horses I now only use Premier Equine rather than Horseware. I used to love Horseware when they were still made in Ireland, but since moving their manufacturing overseas the quality over recent years has really dropped off IMO.

Thanks, I've been sticking to Horsewear because the necks and liners all fit. Do PE only sell through their own site? They don't seem to be stocked in the more generalist shops.
