how do i get a bridle on a really stubbern pony?

ok so i ride this pony called Comet. He is really good and i love him lots but its impossible to get his bridle on! My friends tell me to put my finger in the side of his mouth and he should open it then but ive tried that and it dosnt really work.. ts really annoying that ive to ask the instructor every week to put his bridle on and its really annoying mee.. its not like the bit doesn;t fit or anything cos thats all fine. so any answers please?! thankss

When you put your thumb in the corner you could try wiggling it about a little, it may make him open up? Just make sure you don't bang the bit on his teeth as you hold it up or put bit in/take bridle off.

Are you nervous around him
No, maybe try covering the bit in something sweet so that when he licks it you can put the bit and then eventually he will start to open his mouth

Can't your instructor can teach you ? Can you ask them ?

Ask the instructor to teach you how to put the bit/bridle on properly or you can end up making the pony worse

err yeh he is.. he is a riding school pony.. and i was watching him so he didnt roll so all is good. he never rolls with his saddle on and his reins were tied up and his stirrups were done up too. i know u will prob say he could still roll but he was only down there for litterly 2mins. im just after tacking him up there and my lesson was in 1min so its grand

So you do realise that he shouldn't lie down with his tack on. Not very good of the RS you use to let this happen.

I wasn't commenting on you only that the riding school lets their horses/ponies lie down with tack on it's dangerous for the horse/pony.

Will not comment on your post anymore sorry to have offended as you are very young. Good luck with the bit and tacking up
