How do I get Bute?

Have never had to use it on my horses but Scribbles isn't looking too good

Do I have to have it prescribed by a vet or just go there and buy some?

Your vet is the only place to get bute, you can't buy it 'over the counter'.

From the vet , but very much doubt they will prescribe it without a visit if horse hasnt been seen by vet before.

Vet, but they need to advise it before you feed it. If you want something long term or not as powerful then try some of the non-bute things on the market like No-Bute etc.

Bute is a Prescription Only Medicine( POM) and must be prescirbed by your veterinary surgeon. Do not be tempted to buy it/try it from anyone other than a vet.

If you have the prescription, you get get bute from internet pharmacies...and it's normally cheaper...but you MUST have a prescription

I would be very wary of "Internet Pharmacies" selling Bute after all the scams with wormers online. Plus to get the prescription you will need your vet anyway so it makes sense just to get it from them.
