As the title says. Ive recently foundout i was pregnant and am trying to decide whether to put my lovely talented gelding out to grass for a year or find someone suitable to help out with him. Hes such a super horse that im weary about finding a suitable person with enough experience for him as hes just starting BSJA/BE and always does brilliantly at open riding club level (Jumps 3.3ft and above for fun)He is also very good at dressage. As you can probably tell i love my horse. Are there people out there that would consider a share like this and where is best to advertise? Thanks for reading.

you could try your local riding club - many have classified pages on their websites. Or you could try local eventing yards to see if anyone is looking for something to compete over the summer.
I would imagine you'd have people queuing up to ride him!

Yes thanks i will try that. I think its going to be more difficult finding someone who wants to BSJA level. (Hes not a worldbeater just happy doing 1m to about 1.15 but could maybe do more with the right rider)I have also considered finding someone to just hack him as thought that maybe easier to find.

would you be happy to pay all comp fees? if you are id suggest pony club websites, the teenagers are normally fearless, but the deal could be you paid for all comp fees but if they want to go to lessons,. etc then they paid..

that sort of thing will get some intrest plus adding the bit about welcome to have lessons etc (at own costs) ensures your beloved horse is getting proffessional schooling/ instruction too.

Hi he is based near newton abbot at the moment but im thinking about possibly moving him back to our home near Exeter as will be easier for me. So any suggestions welcome. He is 16.2hh tBx. Id be happy for someone to have lessons and go to competitions if they wanted.

I guess a lot would depend on whether you want financial contribution- would probably be best just to place adverts everywhere tack shops, online, pony/riding club etc.... good time of year to find someone as we are coming into spring! :)

A contribution would be good if only small but i really want the riding and help with some of the care really.

Hi we havent got a farm yet but are just looking for land now.
If there is anyone out there that wants a lovely horse to ride in Devon. Please let me know. Thanks

Just to update i would also consider someone who wanted to just hack or do purely dressage. Open to suggestions x

I would suggest emailing local RC - Sid & Otter are a pretty good RC. Also a post in competition riders as you are more likely to find a rider who will fit in with what you want.

I`d definitely be interested but am down in Plymouth :( Sounds a lovely horse though, I`m sure that there would be someone in the pony club and put up adverts in all the local tack shops? :)

Thanks for the response. I am going to try local feed shops this weekend. He would definetly show hes a lovely looking, well put together boy and has done very well in working hunter classes.

I would suggest emailing the Exeter uni riding club. There are some excellent riders who can't bring their horses with them to uni or have sold their horse who would jump at the oppourtunity. A fair few stay down in the area during the summer as well if thats a worry.

I've had a couple ride my old lad Dan before he was retired as I didn't have time to ride two.
