How do I know if my horse is fat and at risk from laminitis?

You know your horse is fat if he/she looks like any of these:-

Sorry if their on the big side!! (I think theres a joke in there somewere!!)

You are all very naughty, especially that awful Juno :D.
This was *meant* to be an opportunity for you all to educate numpties about laminitis, but for some strange reason, no one takes my posts seriously. :p
So, anyone got a good link to a website explaining condition scoring, with pics?
And anyone got any good links to laminitis info on websites (hint hint).
Thanks
S :D

PS Thanks for the laughs - I loved the orbit one...

If your field looks like desert, after turning horse out in lush grass and ponies tummy is on floor with feet out at 90 degrees then I think (could be wrong) your horse maybe a little over weight! hehe

This could be adapted for Fat Fighters...
If your fridge looks like a desert, after lunch/dinner and your tummy is on floor with your feet out at 90 degrees then I think (could be wrong) you may be a little over weight! :D

Mmmm afraid that sounds like me :o

Juno I think you need very strong words with your wife!!!:D

Or would she beat you with a pink fluffy riding whip? (Rethinking that don't answer, I afraid of what you would put!!:))

Darling, she is a dressage diva so doesn't own a fluffy pink whip. She would use her (very) long schooling whip or get a groom to do it. :p

If you can roll your horse across the fielod for it's twice daily 15kg hard feed, it's possibly going to be at risk of laminitis.

but only if you can only roll it downhill. If you can roll it uphill, even after the 15kg hard feed, then its fine and needs 63 tubes of Polos for pudding.

When people ask 'when's her foal due?' but you know for a fact that your mare's never enjoyed a sexual liaison. Even worse, when they ask the same question about your gelding.
