How do i put a profile pic on here?!

How do i get a profile pic on here and how do you make the string of pictures like some people have?!

My pictures seem to be too large to go on here - how do i change them?!

Think i'm being a bit dumb and i'm sure there's something REALLY obvious that i'm not doing + will kick myself for asking...!

If you upload your pictures onto www.photobucket.com and then click edit it comes up with the options "avatar" - profile pic size and "thumbnail"- sig size.

Ok, thank you - i've resized it in photobucket and then copied the link and pasted it into the edit profile bit on here and it doesn't do anything, just says "error on page" at the bottom! Driving me nuts!!
