Can anyone give me any advice please?
I recently bought and backed a 4yo welsh D cob type pony, however when i bought him he was passported but not registered and had no papers. Im sure he is full or at least part welsh D, and I would like to register him with the welsh pony society so that I could do showing classes with him, however I dont really know how to go about this and what it involves, or even if it is possible when i have no papers. If anyone can give me any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Hi
I had the same thing last year with my D colt, I know he is pure and wanted to keep him entire so I traced the breeder who was unwilling to provide a covering certificate (or any proper info on him to go on) from his stallion due to a dispute between himself and the previous owner of my colt and his dam, hence he was reg as PB and gelded :( such a shame...
I suggest you try to trace his breeder who would be able to give you all the info on the dam and sire, can be long winded (depending on how many homes he's been through..)
but once you have the reg names and numbers of his parents you can contact the WPCS who will be able to help you further, not quite sure where they go from there but I would think once you have the parentage they might go on your horses dna…
Hope it helps a little, good luck :)
