Hello all,
I have recently bought a Welsh x foal and I'm wondering about showing.
I've never been in to the showing scene but would like to show the foal as she has good bloodlines.
So what should I wear to show her. And how do I turn out her? I have been told you need to plait a Welsh X but I wasn't sure if this still applied for foals.
Also what sort of classes should I be looking at

Yes she should be plaited. A leather filly slip is the correct headwear for her and you would wear the same as you would in any in hand class.

Most shows have young stock classes or ‘potential’ classes.

This might sound like a stupid question but I'm completely new to showing.

what would do about her tail?
I wouldn't want to pull it with her been so young, but Its also not plaitable, is it ok to just leave it?

Don’t worry about the tail, it can be natural. I’d recommend taking her to a small show first. It really won’t matter too much how you are both turned out. You’ll gain experience and learn a lot as you can watch a couple of classes before you go in. There usually some later ones near me aimed at foals so might be worth looking near you.

Plait the mane and forelock. Brush the tail out. Foal tails don't really get touched. Some people might put a small plait in the top to enhance the 1/4s but it really isn't necessary.

Check out your local WPCS, they will be holding foal shows very soon and should have a PB class.
