I want to put a link up or a pic but can't. Ive tried to follow the instructions but still no joy.

When I scroll down to bottom of the page to posting rules it says I may not post attachments and also HTML code is off.

Please bear in mind I'm a complete computer loooooser and don't even know HTML stands for. :(

What do I need to do to change these 2 settings ???
 
I don't know what HTML stands for either!

When I put pics on here I use them from my Photobucket page (free to join and upload at www.photobucket.com) - you just copy the 'IMG' info that appears when you hover your mouse over the pics and paste it into your post on here.

With links, I just copy and paste the web address that appears in the address bar at the top of the page I want to link to. (Hope that makes sense!)
 
Right here goes.
I go into start new thread then click on the insert image icon and it comes up with a little box asking me to put in the URL of my image. Am I right so far ? if so then what do I do then to get the pic from photobucket ?

I don't use the insert image icon, I put it straight into the post. Go to photobucket and click on the image you want to insert. Underneath will be 3 (I think) codes; you want the 3rd one which starts with IMG. Copy that and paste it directly into your post where you want it to appear within the text. If you press the preview post button you will be able to see if it has worked or not.
