Got a text from the friend i share my stables with and she said farmer was going to stables as 3 guys in the field with air rifles

They were pis***g off on their mini scooters by the time the farmer got there in his van, 999 had already been called. We went down 5 mins later and horses were worked up but seemed ok. Checked them thoroughly when they had calmed down and saw Bean was bleeding about an inch under her eye.

Caught her and it was clearly where an air rifle pellet had hit her, bounced off the bone. Is a puncture wound. Cleaned it up with hibi scrub and purple spray and turfed her out.

Police had come, taken details and gone for a drive round, but the evil bu***rs had gone. Farmer is almost certain he knows one of them though.

I just don't understand why people do this to horses

How do they sleep at night knowing they have shot an innocent horse

We have already had one horse shot a few weeks ago in the shoulder and they were chased with sticks about a week ago. It is obviously the same people each time and just hoping all the trouble stops soon.

bl****y h**L! Are you sure there isn;t a pellet left or is it obviously out?
What plonkers.hope someone shoots them with one, see how they like it.

its terrible isnt it. its good the police are taking it seriously. years ago at one of our yard we had them in our fields all the time with motorbikes, when they eventually made one of them jump a fence and brake its leg everyone stayed up there all night waiting for them to come back, when they did its needless to say they never came back again.

i hope u catch them they need to be taught a lesson

My god how horrible. Hope Bean is ok.
I would hunt them down if they had done that to my horse, they would know the meaning of pain then!

I am bloody furious. Fraid I would be camping out too with a very nice scalpal ready to defrock them. B*stards. Hope Bean doesnt have any issues after this. So very sorry hun, sending pos vibes and hugs xx

Thanks for the support everyone.
serena2005- thats awful, one of our horse suddenly went absoloutly terrifies of motorbikes about 3 years ago, overnight. We don't know why but he is very gradually getting over his fear. He went from being fine with them to bolting, terrified overnight

Hope your horse is ok and i hope you find the *****!
A few years ago one of ours got chased around the field with a tranny van, luckily as we live on the outskirts of a town so the roads are busy he is still traffic proof.
There have been two horses killed within 10 miles of me so far this year.

Poor pony.
Let's hope evolution kicks in and these people prove not fit to survive (usually they don't live long as they haven't the sense they were born with!).
Try to think about all the nice people out there...the ones who free horses stuck in fences, sort rugs, help mares foal in the field (happened to me) etc.
Good luck

How awful!

These people don't deserve to be on the planet. I know how you feel as years ago my two ponies were shot about 5-6 times each by vile little brats. One of them was already blind in one eye and a bullet narrowly missed her other eye. My other pony who was scared of the vet, had bullets lodged in his back and his legs - the little half blind pony was albino and covered in blood. I knew who it was and went round to their house and had to be dragged away by the police

(I was only about 14)

I hope they catch them - although the ones who did it to my ponies got a £50 fine and told they couldn't watch tv for the rest of the weekend...hopefully things have improved since then...

we're having trouble too, 2 weeks ago someone brike the valve off the water trough in the bottom fiels so it overflowed and left all the other waterers dry, and also let the horses into the hayfield.
this saturday night they came back and cut the fence in several places and removed some posts and let the horses into both the hayfields, also the fence was cut at the back of the hayfiels so the horses could have left the property.
the horses (6) have been in a menage all night.

this is one of those things that makes me glad the yard is up a 1/2 mile private drive with the owners house at the front and woods at the back, makes up for the long trek up a dirt track when you hear about things like this that just seem to keep happening
frown.gif
i get that people have nothing better to do but really...some people are just deranged and obv have no sense of right or wrong!

Arrgh... what is wrong with these people? It really is beyond me how we manage to breed such uncaring, detached, psychos
mad.gif
I'm sure a genetic programme to weed out these charcters from our society and castrate them would be to everyones advantage.....

also someone has so badly damaged the big high metal electric drive gates by hitting them with their vehicle they have had to come off and be replaced with a wooden 5 bar gate, which makes the yard feel really vulnerable (plus you have to get off to get through the gates and not use a remote control, which is a bugger)

Spangle and jumpthemoon-how awful!

There are some sick people in this world

God, its just like, what has the horses EVER done to them??? They don't deserve it in the slightest!
frown.gif

We were thinking about putting them in the stable tonight but then that just makes them sitting targets, all people would have to do is walk in the stable, put their fag lighter in the straw........you know what i mean

my horse was upset the first weekend when someone was in messing, and after this weekend he was really upset and he still hasnt settled, he's not finished a meal or a haynet since (majorly unusaul as he's a greedy sod), kept him in last night as weather was so bad but he's not settled all night and he hasny lay down - he ALWAYS lies down to sleep usually.
