As the title I've just been up to the yard in my usual 5 layers of clothes hat gloves & anything else I can squeeze on. Still freezing and the teenagers are running around in hoodies!!!! Anyone else have have hyper heated teenagers on their yard.

Underneath the hoodie is probably another 2 hoodies, several tops and a scarf :D Probably tights under the jods too!

No, its all the food they manage to eat. All the things that would result in heart attacks for the rest of us!
Chocolate, Burgers, Crisps, Cakes......Oh and the vast amounts of Coke that they all seem to drink as well

I said to my son - "Put a hat on, it may not look cool but would you rather freeze to death' to which he replied, 'Yes, I would rather freeze...' you can't help some people. Appearance is all when your 17, at 42 comfort is everything!

I wear a hoodie & t-shirt at yard :p
I might wear a coat over that if in morning but don't wear one to ride :p

Although I usually live in polo shirts come mid February :p and that's not an exaggeration - my friends regularly make fun of me & my very established farmers tan :p

I drive past a college everyday and the girls mainly seem to be wearing shorts with tights underneath ! The blokes seem to have their arses hanging out their trousers ! No sign of coats tho - I'm turning into my mum........

We have anti-freeze in our veins! I really honestly don't get cold. I was at the yard at six this morning, didn't get home untill half an hour ago and have been pretty toasty all day. Saying that, I do tend to put a couple of thin layers under my hoody, I hate wearing coats! Schooled the last three in a long-sleeve top, polo shirt and a scarf as I hate getting a cold kneck. Saying that, I'll be very disappointed if that all changes when I turn twenty :(

Dont know but wish I was able to do that . I'm only 20 and I look like a mitchelin man when I'm at the yard, I have at least 2 tshirts, a jumper, a massive gilet, a neck warmer, sealskinz gloves and a coat on at all times. Then I have my full chaps and ear warmers on my hat when I ride and a big fluffy hat when I'm not riding and I'm still cold.

But then again I did get sent to the hospital about being constantly cold so maybe I do have a problem :p and I dont eat that much.

I'm a teenager and I am one of the only ones I know that gets really really cold. Even indoors when everyone else is really warm, they'll be giving me their jackets to warm me up with! I am quite skinny and have food issues but still, I just get abnormally cold! I never really used to, it started when I was about 14. Everyone else seems to be constantly warm though - maybe I'm just weird :D

Well I wear a hoodie and a coat for sorting the horses at the moment but the coat seems to come off once I've started mucking out or something. I wear a big chunky coat for walking to uni, however I never seem to get too cold going out in just a dress at night :D Haha typical student

When I was about 15 I used to go around the yard in a strappy top in winter, and not feel cold at all. I'd wear a coat out riding but I'd be far too hot in a coat on the yard.

I'm 20 now and wrapped up in loads of layers when I go to the yard! The cold has caught up with me quickly :(

I'm a teenager and wear a T-shirt, long sleeved top, hoodie, coat, thick jods, one pair of normal socks and a pair of knee high ski socks when I go to the yard. When I muck out and groom I get really hot so take my coat off but put it back on for riding. I'm generally a "hot" person, am always running round the house opening windows! :)

my eldest is a year of being a teenager and he's the same if I hasn't hidden his shorts just before Christmas I swear he'd still be wearing them.....I had to he was making me cold just looking at him, he's still in tshirts though and don't even get me started on the new school jumpers I brought that as yet haven't seen the light of day yet!

Haha! I'm 16 and refuse to go to the yard without my thermals on, a big woolly hat, at least 3 tops, my body warmer, and a coat. I don't do the cold. Im 16 going on 61.

*running around the yard* should be your answer! This is how they keep warm - high enegery, lots of movement = warm! I have to say, I was at the yard at just before 5pm tonight, in minus god knows what,....about 6-7 and I was in my work trousers, summer top and hoodie - didnt feel it too much but hands were numb when got back to the car! Have to say, I'm not a teen either......just hot stuff :p

Haha I'm 19 and I'm always cold so I'm always layered up with thermals, t shirts, fleeces, hoodies, coats etc! Can't wear scarves, they make me feel like I'm being strangled :p

Hahahaaa, I'm 16 and I wear more clothes at the yard than anybody else!

And I always have a brew or a pot noodle in my hand.

Warm food/drink is the way forward!

I would beg to differ as to whether pot noodles are food or not. I have to buy them sometimes for my teenage son, and I try to hide them in the trolley underneath something else.

pot noodles are RANK. They actaully taste of nothing but the plastic container they come in,.....but, if brown hot water with some plastic noodles is your thing,....go for it! I usually go for cup-a-soups, or those new hienz squeazy sachet things - nom nom nom! Something about tomato soup on a cold crisp day that just makes all my troubles disapear for 5 mins!
