Bloomin timing! This is the only weekend i have had free to ride properly without having to rush since the end of feb. And it's the last one i will have til after my uni exams in may. I had a nice long 4 or more hour hack planned tomorrow, and a trip to the gallops planned on monday. Horse is lame. whats the chances?? He's never sick or sorry, only thing i can think is he has pulled it a bit in the mud or something since they are living out. It's only a mild lameness so fingers crossed it might be better by monday but i'm not counting on it. So peed off.
 
I am sure he will be fine by the morning. You are right they just know, I have a hunter type who really as tough as old boots one week before we were due to go on a riding holiday together he pulled a tendon in the field so i had to borrow a 4 year old of my instructor which was lets say interesting to say the least.

Fingers crossed it is just a tweak and you can have the nice weekend you have planned.
 
I think even if by some miracle it is better tomorrow enough that he isn't lame on it (theres also a bit of heat) i wouldn't want to go on a massive long ride on cobbly stony ground like i had planned as it would probably just make it worse. He will probably be ok to go out with his other sharer sat/sun but i'm worried that might put it back again and i'm also a bit dubious about taking him on the gallops so soon after :(

Oh well, next best thing is to take my slr and make him pose for some proper portrait head shots if the light is nice... But i'm missing being in the saddle so much!! It was my little celebration for getting my first draft of my dissertation in. More wine tonight me thinks.
 
It's just one of the perks of owning a horse, you plan something in advance, you look forward to it for ages and by the wave of a magic wond, there lame!

You'll plan to take some nice pics, it will rain or your horse will find the most muddiest, wet patch in the field and roll in it.....just don't anything lol
 
Tell me about it! Mine always knows when I want to ride and if I keep her in that day to stop her getting muddy she will resort to lying in her own dung to put me off! Lol.
