How do you co-share a DIY yard

Good morning everyone!

I have my horse stabled on a yard which has offered 7 day turn out and bring in and supplied hay. The manager of the yard is no longer able to offer these service and had asked us to go complete DIY and sort the assistance out amongst the liveries.

So my question is - if you were in this situation what questions or things would you be organising with the other liveries?

Currently I can think of - will we charge each other for turning out and bringing in and if not hw to we keep it a fair share around everyone's jobs, making a monthly rota to organisations who can commit to help on what days, personal accident insurnace cover, storage for our own individual hay supplies.

Are other suggestions?

Depending on how many horses there are.. might be better off splitting into two separate rotas?
Could organise it that one week someone puts out, someone brings in. At my last yard me and a friend used to do this. She has two horses and I have 1. She put bb out in the mornings and I would bring her 2 in later. Worked for me.
this yard is my friend and she lives there so She will feed him and put BB out in the morning in the winter.

A yard I used to be on, we had a kind of buddy system, so you'd do yours and your friend's for free, and vice versa, and there was one girl who made herself available to do everything else for everyone, for payment. It worked well, and I think better and less confusing than having loads of people involved.

Best yard I was on had a freelancer who'd do am feed& turnout for most people, holiday cover and bringing in. Didn't stop people buddying up but you knew there was a fully insured professional who could do the job. She was a pro too - even the naughtiest horses behaved.

Meant you weren't constantly calling in favours from other liveries and could save that for real emergencies

I've done this before on a yard of 3 of us and it was ok but frankly can be a hassle to organise and can lead to resentment if one person can't pull their weight through job/family commitments etc. If there are enough of you it might be worth finding a groom for the majority of the work, and you can then fill in their days off amongst yourselves.
