A friend of mine has a Andy stud where most have manes at least to their shoulders. One has it down his leg. She plaits it to keep it out of his way.

Yes I have 2 boarding horses here who have exceptionally long manes and that's exactly what I do with them too - braid them up and leave about 1ft long. I have told their owner that there is no way I am going to groom those manes every day LOL!! Owner is fine with it.
