From the floor

When mine are in, which isn't often, I just walk along the aisle with a wheelbarrow and toss hay over the walls onto the floor. Far too lazy to fill haynets and a haybar/rack would take up too much space.

I used to have a hayrack in Wales, filled from the tackroom, it didn't take up any space in the stable. I liked that arrangement but it wouldn't work here.

They have haynets when they come in at about 4.30 and then when I go to check on them later on they have some on the floor

in a net, i soak mine. but i have it hung really low so she has to stretch her back. i would feed off hte floor if she wasnt such a gannet. she's a very sensible type though, never even been close to putting her foot through it (not that it's THAT low)

It's interesting to see what everyone does! Yes the gannet problem is something I'd not thought of. It's in a hayledge net at the moment so it lasts otherwise she'd have it in no time at all. Ummm.....maybe I'd best stick to nets?
