How do you find a puppy!?

I’ve realised that I haven’t bought a pet dog since the days when you bought the Yorkshire Post on a Saturday!
I’ve bought working dogs already trained from people I know. But I have no idea where to start looking for a nice pet pup!

I’m looking for a Border Terrier, proper working kind with long legs and a nice face. Health tested parents, and I’m not in any rush.

Where to start these days!? I’m guessing not Facebook? I don’t know anyone with BTs so can’t start through word of mouth.

There will, inevitably, be someone on here who will find you one (I think between us we've even got some really obscure breeds covered) - but otherwise yep, breed club secretary may be able to give you some leads or Champdogs isn't the worst place for a first filter.
 
Well, I'm always half looking for terriers around my area. I go on Preloved, Gumtree, Freeads and Pets4Homes. Borders that are KC reg and SLM tested do crop up, but their coat scares me😀. You would do better though if you want a bully (any size you like), daschund, doodle or a dog that cant breathe. JRTs are quite rare now. I even went in Mole Vally to look at the notice board and there was an advert for a dax and one for a springer. That was it.
