Just had a thought... My friend & I are looking at some horses in Yorkshire and I was wondering how do you get a horse vetted if it's at the other end of the country?

Our vet down here wouldn't go (and I couldn't pay for it!!) and how do you know/find a vet at the other end and that it would be a good vetting?

Any thoughts?

Ask for a recommendation of a vet (name the nearest town to horsey) on HHO.

I have just bought a horse from Scotland. She was a 7 hour drive from me so I just asked the vendor which vet she used and then made sure that I rang a different one in the same area. I had a 5 stage vetting. I spoke to the vet twice and she was excellent. Money well spent I think because she really helped me to make up my mind to buy the pony.

I bought a horse from the other end of the country. Just looked up equine vets on the net and then checked him out through my own vet at home. Had full 5 stage and bloods no problem.
