Ive found that by putting some bailing twine in behind the lick-it and leaving enough to get hold of either side you can pull it out with ease once empty.......
guess I should have suggested that before it got stuck in there though
I can lend you my youngster I can spend hours trying to get them out and she'll have it done it seconds! (but failing that one I use the screwdriver trick too)
Don't want to panic you but please be careful with these because I was told that it can be dangerous for the horses to digest a full one (obviously eaten by accident) to eat full ones in one go, due to the ingredients contained which are designed to be licked a little each day.
This is only what I was told by someone on my yard who horse kept some how getting them off the holders and eating them, not sure where they got the info from though and their horse was ok but thought it was worth mentioning it whilst your on the subject.

I think this used to be a problem but am sure they changed the recipe at some stage to make them relatively harmless if a greedy piggy gobbles the lot.
Thanks for the warning - Ellie is particularly naughty about eating the lot in one go, but she is rationed to one Likit a week, and I am pretty sure they've been made safer now, because it was such a common problem!
Thanks to everyone for the advice; I have managed to remove said Likits with a screwdriver!
Did they oh well that's good then, and thanks for mentioning it, I did think it strange a company producing licks that would potentially be danger if eaten...when in fact the idea is to actually consume the product if you know what I mean!...oh well sorry if I worried anyone, false alarm and all.
one of our horses scoffed a whole likit and promptly went down with colic that was a few yrs ago now but im still personally v cautious but they have prob changed the recipe as you said.
I know this is a bit sad, but my tack shop sells "official" Likit long nosed pliers for £1.99 (and I bought one!). Makes everything easier (and saves breaking your nails/hoof pick etc)
Hmm - I certainly hope so. My NF yearling absolutely adores them, all the flavours, but gets through a whole one in about 40 minutes . . . . .
I gave up on them as it was getting a bit expensive and they now have one of those whopping great square Rockie licks. He can't bite that one so has to lick it!
