I have appalling circulation. I wear two pairs of socks all day + slippers/shoes and they are still cold. I also wear gloves all day, but my hands are still cold.
When I ride I wear skiiing socks (so they are supposed to be really warm) and a pair of tights, and can just about manage to squeeze them into my joddy boots. Yet my toes still start going numb and painful with cold.
So, can anyone make any suggestions on which products (socks or joddy boots) to keep my tootsies toasty?

When i used to be abandoned down the yard for 16 hours at a time during the winter I tried all sorts, the best was...

Tights, socks, TIN FOIL, plastic bag, socks.... then shoes!! LMAO!! i can still remember picking the bits of tinfoil off my socks before i was allowed in!!

I now have some lovely leather country boots with lambswool insoles, use ski socks and have jogging bottoms over my johds and the boots... really warm and less mess!!! xx

Equitectors.
I am the same, I just cannot stay warm once winter hits, even with many layers, special thermal socks, etc.
But equitectors are very much worth the money. My first pair lasted 2 winters but were abused, the second pair are coming into their 2nd winter and still look like new having been looked after this time round. I have the paddock boots, not tried the riding ones, but have ridden in the paddock boots, bulky and you couldn't compete in them but fine for pottering about in.

Most of the time my feet stay warm because I'm running around all over the place working, but once I'm on board and riding they FREEZE! I've resorted to constantly wiggling my toes in the stirrups to try and keep some circulation going.

The worst is when you get off, and you land on cold, sore feet. AGONY! I'll watch this thread with interest in case there are any brilliant suggestions.

I have to stand around on a cold playground for an hour a day and the best thing I've found so far is wearing a pair of thick trainer socks under my normal ones and my toes stay toasty

lol, moving about doewsn't do much for my toes. I do lots of stretches and such before riding to warm up my muscles before riding.
I'd love Grasmeres, but they're a bit out of my price range!

Currently silk sock linings, ski socks and Dubarrys. When it gets colder I will move on to the boot heaters I learnt about last year skiing which keep your toes toasty all day, these even fit inside my long boots. I also have silk linings for my gloves, I get very cold.

Have to tried "SealSkinz"
I had a pair last year and they were lovely and toasty! Unfortunately I left them at the yard when I got changed there and the rats got them

I now currently have a thin pair of socks, thick tube socks and either my hunters or muckboots. Very very warm in muckboots, as they're a similar material to wetsuits.

I second Ariat Grassmers have really bad circulation and my feet are toastie in these, and if I am mucking out etc them mountain horse rimfrost paddock boots, never had a chilblain since got them 5yrs ago

Le Chameau lined wellies keep my feet lovely and warm even when wearing thin socks. For riding I have some of the Ariat winter boots which are lovely and warm too

STORY OF MY LIFE. HALP!

Just a slightly different thought - you said:
'and can just about manage to squeeze them into my joddy boots. Yet my toes still start going numb and painful with cold.'
Just wonder if that's part of the problem. If you squash your feet in you are very likely to go numb and will seriously compromise your circulation. You will also get seriously cold, simply because you are squashing the air out between layers so probably colder than with just one less squished layer - if you get my meaning

Other than that - keeeep wiggling

I have terrible circulation too its miserable

But here is my survival guide:

* Buy a pair of wellies from The Muck Boot company.... worth every penny i promise... and wear them all the time and just change into riding boots to ride and then straight back into the muck boots after riding (I find Ariat riding boots the warmest.

* Buy a pair of skiing gloves--- they are the warmest and waterproof. Wear a very thin pair of gloves underneath so you can take the skiing gloves off to do fiddly jobs and still have gloves on underneath!

* Buy a pair of good riding gloves (as suggestions above)

* Keep your body warm... it will help keep your hands and feet warm if your core is warm!

*Always wear a hat... warmer= warmer hands and feet

agree about the ariat BUT unfortunately, its the more expensive ones that keep your feet warm - the "cheaper" (hmm @ £75.00) are not warm at all. Last year I also bought some musto slipper socks - very thin and slip over my socks. Now I have really warm feet, even on a long and very slow hack....!

I know it sounds daft but what do you wear on your legs??

I tried all sorts of boots and socks and still had cold feet, and legs so got some full chaps and wow not only were my legs warm but feet too. In fact it made my whole body warmer too

Also now wearing these and they are amazingly warm and not bad at £70 although I got mine from YHL for £40
