For non riding stuff seal skinz, but watch the size as they are a neat fit.
For riding I use thermal arm warmers from the sports shop to keep my arms warm and then just a cheapish pair of fingerless gloves with the mitten flap thing that can be pulled over to cover your fingers. This lets me keep my fingers mainly together but the pinkie out for rein holding. I would say use mittens but they are hard to hold the reins in, the flap lets you get your fingers out quickly for girth tightening etc. I also just got a pair of StormChasers fingerless wrist warmers to wear under the flap fingerless gloves.
