How do you keep your horse/s?

I rent two acres, no stables but a shed for hay etc, I'd find it really hard to go on livery now I think, plus even grass livery is way more expensive!

DIY at a large livery yard, which has part livery and DIY as well as the owner's horses. It's a great yard with wonderful facilities on the SW London/Surrey border.

I keep mine on DIY at a large livery yard in an individual paddock, it has a medium size school, all year 24/7 turnout, great hacking, its a lovely yard.
However, I would have her at home at the drop of a hat if I had my own land :)

At a perfect yard - 22 stables - approx 24 horses as two ponies don't have a stable. Great owners and YO.
DIY but can pay to have jobs done e.g. bring in and turn out - turn out costs about £1.20. Change rug 80p etc. I have her brought in for food the days I work and if I go away.
All horses can live out 24/7 all year and mine does. In fact they all do but two.
Food and bedding are bought in for us to buy so no trips to the feed merchant for me! - Simple systems and YO makes fantastic hay which is very reasonable priced if we need it (grazing so good normally only use a small amount). Pay for what we use and very reasonable.
My mare lived in a 10 acre field this winter with 4 others.

Good arena.

I can't think of anything I don't like about it!!

Hampshire /Berks borders

Also Hants/Berks border - large-ish yard - 30 horses and ponies, year-round turnout on ok grass, great hacking on own gallops with direct access to Forestry Comission land, purely DIY.

At home, have 2 stables, barn and storage, 5acre field plus two paddocks of moorland grass so youngster live out with option to use shelter if they want.

When children were at home and we had competition horses/ponies we used to do in at night out in day all year round, so having youngsters out 24/7 is new for me.

In Staffordshire Moorlands on edge of Peak District at 1000ft.

Large livery yard - approximately 50 horses. AYTO in herd (although mares/geldings split) although not 24/7 sadly, floodlit sandschool and direct access to off road hacking.

Yard caters for DIY, assisted, part and full. In the summer, I'm DIY (bar holiday cover or the odd turn out) but in the winter I use more assisted (bringing in to avoid being the only horse out) & one day full livery to give myself some 'me' time.

DIY on a small private yard. We are the only liveries (me and my sister), but the YO does have a pony for her daughter and 3 shetlands. Horses live out most of the time.

The two I ride are kept at home, yard is next door to the house. Three stables, tack room and feed room. A couple of acres of land with an area sectioned of to use as an arena. Very nice and peaceful just being the only one there! And we have excellent hacking with a bridleway leading right from the yard.

DIY on small yard of 14 horses. 3 are yard owners, 1 is on full livery, 5 are on part (YO does Mon-Fri, owners do Sat & Sun) the other 5 are DIY xx

Just bought a house with twenty acres, thirteen of which is grazing, but we have no fencing up and the stables are rotted with severe water damage. So we plan to get it horse-ready over the next two years, and buy two horses and a pony.

At home, on 4 acres, out 24/7 but have stables which are only used to feed in or for vet. Can do whatever I want /when I want and live it. I do however miss people to hack out with and would love a ménage.
