how do you let your horse know you really love him/her!

I play with his muzzle as he loves that, and also grab his tongue when he sticks it out, we make a game of it. Don't give him treats except carrots in his tea otherwise he gets nibbly!
 
don't really pat but a big scratch on the withers when riding coupled with 'good boy'...in the stable we're a regular love fest....sad I know, he loves a good scratch under the chin but when I'm picking out his hooves he'll turn around and rest his head on me which is a bit odd (obviously only when I'm doing his front ones!!!)
 
I talk to her all the time and scratch her neck or might give her a gentle pat. She always knows when she's been a good girl

I would be absolutely livid too! It drives me INSANE if anyone tries to give PF a titbit. Regardless of whether it's something I would give her, like a carrot, I don't bl**dy well give their children sweets and stuff, why the feck should they be feeding my horse???!! Definitely a pet hate of mine and fortunately doesn't happen often.
 
i give my treats in there feed i never give treats anyother way as it can cause biting and kicking in a field--

i reward my horse with a warm bed to sleep and food inits belly and water todrink- abeing loved and groomed

i reward my horse by stroking and telling them they are good
i reward my horse by having kind hands and a light leg when i ride

i reward my horse in knowing that he/she understands me as i have both sexes and knowing that we are freinds and i understand there wants and needs

they reward me back by doing everything i want to do with them
