How do you mark haynets so you know they are yours?

Further to my other post, I need to mark my haynets so that they can easily be identified as mine! Any ideas please, needs to be something different as it is quite a big yard.

Buy all your kit so its different then get some of those cable ties and attach them, you know its yours, but to let others know, get a scrap of white material or an old tie from your dad and tie it on with your name in permanent marker
 
You could try tie-dying them? Easy and then everyone will know they are yours :D

Or you could replace the string in the haynet with something very different, like a patterned rope or the like :)
 
I would always change the rope to tie it up with. Buying some washing line rope type of thing in a certain colour and on all my nets.
 
Do you soak your hay? If not just put a tag of electric tape on it - you know the type you use to "tie" boots on for cross country, sort of plastic sticky tape - you can get it in any DIY store in all sorts of colours.
 
All my haynets have black cable ties on the rings at the top. Saves arguments! and means I get them back if I lend them out!

thanks It's also very helpful when finding your filled haynets in the haybarn :)

I also put them on my leadropes which always seem to end up on other horses headcollars because people can't be bothered to find their own leadropes when bringing horses in from the field

plastic key tags that car garages use for customers cars, they fasten like a cable tie, are big enough to write name and they come in various colours!
 
You can order lamb ear tags - dirt cheap for zillions of them, they'll print your horse's name on every one, attach them to absolutely everything you own. Sad but necessary.

I have a couple of these, I love them.
Mine are big enough for 2 or 3 sections and are great for the trailer and tie ups, probably in stalls too, except I just bung hay on the floor then.

A piece of white tape and a permenant marker.

Write your name on the tape and sew it on the haynet.

I have black haynets and I've changed the rope around the top to a bright blue. AS most haynets have net & rope the same colour it makes them very obviously mine. If you have more than one horse you can use a different colour so that you knkow which one is to be fed to which horse.

Now that is a good idea, as it needs to be something not easily removed and that my horses won't try and eat!
 
We have over 40 horses with 2 or 3 nets each. We use plastic luggage tags and write the name on both sides in permanent marker.
 
Put some electrical tape around the drawstring, or put a coloured chicken leg ring onto the bottom of the hay net!
 
I put pink electrical tape on everything! I bought it on ebay for a couple of quid. It sticks to itself very well and is quite soft so it moulds to any shape. I have a small piece round the string of my nets so I know which are mine. I soak my hay and none of the tapes have come off since I did it over a year ago.
 
I cable tie a cattle ear mark tag on to them, you can write on them with permanent marker. I think I bought the last box off Ebay but you should be able to get them from a farm store.
