How do you measure your horses bone?

Where and how do you measure you horses bone?

i.e 'my horse has got 9 inch of bone' where is the measurement taken from?

I thought it was the circumferance (*sp) of the cannon bone, measurement taken from about midway up.

Below the knee, just measure around it

You have to measure the circumference of the leg just below the knee - not further down the cannon bone.
