Just curious (nosey!) really. Do you take out all the wet every day or just pick the poo out or what? I'm leaning towards poo picking each day, plus any wet I happen to find and disturb but leaving it till the weekend to take out all the wet and to move the banks.

My horse is on deep litter till he gets rubber matting so just taking the poo out at the mo but when he gets mats in his stable he will be mucked out wet and poo.

I get rid of wet and poo, turn the banks upside down. He always goes in the same place though. I leave his bed up too so his floor dries out and he gets bedded down in the evening. He's normally out all day anyway in either the field or a turnout pad unless the weather is really bad.

I always muck out properly, twice a day. In the morning - all poos out, all wet out, clean straw banked up, floor swept, floor Jeyes Fluid-ed, bed put back down. In evening, repeated but without Jeyes Fluid, adding clean straw in and shaking it up mainly on the banks!

Well Horse only in at night so muck out in the morning all wet & poo, leave up to dry (as on rubber matting as well as about 4-5 inches of shavings) put down, fresh water and haylege. Horse very good always poo's one on top of another never stands in it wee's in same spot and he never lies down in stable he's very clean. If I could just train him to poo and wee in a bucket. lol

Im really lazy, well not just me.
Mine are on livery at the mo but when their at home, mum does them in the morning, taking out the poo and bits of wet she comes across, and we both do the same at night.
At the weekends i tend to do them properly. Sperating dry, a little bit wet and too wet and taking out the wetwet and poo, and putting the little bit wet up the sides and the dry back down, and then by the time i next do it fully the wet had mostly dried out so i put that back down...
I know i shuld do this everyday, becasue it would only take 10 minutes, but for somereason im not quite sure of i dont...i manage to make myself tihnk the other ays quicker, which it isnt!

Take all poop from surface and at front of stable, then dig for the poop she buries, then take any wet thats been bought to surface, then any hay thats not been eaten, throw all that away then if needed lay more straw down, and sweep up. My mare is very messy in her current box, its pretty big 14x14 or something like that, we have half matted and half a thick straw bed. We muck out when its needed, more often when she's in season.

Mine are out at night and in during the day, I poo pick with rubber gloves, put then bed up removing the wet, sweep then bed down putting clean straw on top.

out with the poo and the wet. I dont dig up every day as I prefer that my boys have a solid base and dont holy their hocks when they get up! I dig up once a week and Jeyes fluid the floor-once dry the bed goes back down. Saves time too!

Mine is on shavings and all wet and poo is taken out everyday. I have always taken it all out he has a big bed though so its not like hes on nothing.

I have three in. 2 are out all day and in at night and Whisk is out til lunchtime then in til next am. He gets exercised at some point in the afternoon. I muck out all poo and wet but never touch the banks as they are huuuge. I skip Whisk out when I do evening yard.

Mine get poo lifted and then the whole lot dug out once every 6months (or a yr depending!). Works well for us as long as kept topped up regularly.
Wouldn't like to jeyes fluid every day due to fumes :S

I mucked out religously every day when my horses were on shavings. Where I've moved to we have enormous stables and the horses are on straw, I've been doing poo picking/deep littering and then doing a massive clearout every couple of weeks.

I've now come to the conclusion that "deep littering" is an anagram of "idle trollop", it's all very well whizzing round the stables with a skip bucket through the week, but crikey, I pay for it when I'm doing a proper clearout, ouch, my back!!

Rubber mats or not, Poutu gets the bed banked on each side of the stable (She pees for England in the back bank), and the wet gets taken out every single day, not matter how big her bed is. I am rather OCD-ish about beds being perfect with the banks being flattend and the middle flattened and the front to be straight, and it only takes me 30mins to muck out and put the bed down

Mine too, four to do each day. hay put in too, ready for after work and bring in them in,

Get rubber matting :P

I only have a shetland in every night (she's the smallest ned I have yet she gets the most pampered somehow!). She's on rubber matts so I just put down a small square of shavings for her to wee on. She pees and poo's in that space only so its actually very very easy to tidy up! I just take out the wet and yuck everyday, sweep up and Im done. Takes about 5 mins max.

I fully muck out, twice a day when he's in. Only takes about 15mins and use 1 bag of w/chips a week in winter (in) and 1/2 in Summer (out during the day).

when he is in regularly @ night i deep litter weekly, just removing the poo & sweeping front of stable then on a saturday i dig out & put in a load of straw (i dont put straw in everyday) if its just the occaisional time i will remove wet & bank up to let it dry - should rotate banks more often but havent for a while
